The walkthrough for Jamlid's revenge... ======================================= It's been over a year since I released Jamlid, and I found to my horror that the original files have been lost from my harddisk.. ..but it doesn't matter much, as all the important files are in the release. I've just lost the install script. Nevermind. The walkthrough --------------- 1. To get to the castle, go down towards trinsic. Past the mill, there is a junction which is not in the original Ultima 6, and a sign that says "Castle Jamlid, trespassers will be executed" 2. Follow the path that the sign is pointing down until you come to the mountain pass, and then look for the gatehouse, on the left. 3. At the gatehouse, you need to sneak through the portcullis and open it with the lever. Get Sherry to do this. 4. Use the key 'L' in the avatar's backpack to open the door. 5. Go through the door, and keep going left until you come to the Garden of Reagents. Look for the archway into the castle. 6. To the North, is a room bedecked with flags. Go into the lobby. The Southern door leads to the Avatar's private study. (Ian's tradition is that only the Avatar may enter this room) 7. To unlock the study, use the ring 'P' on the avatar's finger. 8. Behind the clock in the study, is a secret door leading to a small chamber. There is a window to the right, (which is a two-way mirror) a steel door to the left, and a wooden door to the north. 9. On the table is a cheese that you drink, and a glass and some wine. Pick up the wine, it is a smashed bottle that you can wield, a'la Liquid Len in The Battle of Epping Forest. 10. Pick up the wineglass. It is in fact a bag, so look inside. you will see a glass of mead, another smashed bottle, a glass sword, a ring of Power and an Ankh. The ring fires lightning bolts, the Ankh is a key that will let you into the Steel Door. In the release I seem to have left it unlocked. Shit. 11. Through the Steel Door is a chamber of wealth, with a small south door leading to a room with the complete End-The-Game kit. To the immediate right is a secret chamber, containing the master interlock lever. Wow! 12. Southeast of here is the armoury, with a secret door in the wall. 13. Through the secret door is the Innermost Sanctum, which has the control system of the castle. Pull those switches and all kinds of stuff happens! 14. Going back to the chamber with the harp, is the wooden door leading north. This leads to a small chamber with a plant. There is a secret door north and a bookcase to the east. 15. The north door is blocked, and is only good for spying on Sutek. The eastern way is blocked by the bookcase, but you can actually push the thing out of the way. It looks like this might only work to get _into_ the harp chamber, not vice versa. 16. Get sutekh to open the north lobby door, using the 'o' ring. Now you have a link between the secret chamber and Sutek's death room. 17. There is an alligator and a beehive. Get the bucket and milk the alligator. Use the beehive to turn the milk into butter. (Wierd, eh?). The panpipes are normal and so is the Snake Horn. (Don't use it) 18. Go back to the corridor. Opposite the lobby is a steel door, this leads to a large section of the garden, in particular the vineyard and the black pearl farm. Head south to the next steel door. Open the door, and this is the banquet hall. On the walls are pictures allegedly done by Ian's schoolfriends. The kitchen is ripped straight from L.B's castle. 19. South is a corridor. First on the north is the main armoury. You can either use Sherry to go in and pull the lever, or use the control room in the Avatar's secret area. 20. East of the Main Armoury is a room with some steps into the dungeon. Straight down the corridor is the very beautiful Temple of Sin. 21. Let's go into the dungeon. Down the ladder and you're in a small chamber with a magically locked door to the north and a door to the east. The north door leads into dungeon Destard IIRC, so ignore that and go east. 22. You should now be in the hub of the Dungeon. North is the wine cellar, east is the torture chamber, as found in all castles. LB is here, subject to poison, volcanic activity and cannon fire. 23. Back to the hub, south is two doors. The west door leads to the Spidersilk farm, where there is a guy trapped (who I've never been able to get to). You use the key 'L' to unlock that one. 24. To the east is the Daemon chamber. Again, 'L' is the one to unlock it. You'll see an angry daemon there, surrounded by a circle of candles which bind him. You can enter the circle, but he can't leave it. Don't get too close or he'll kick you in. 25. Go back up to the castle, and out throught the banquet hall. You should be next to a west-leading corridor. To the south is shamino's room, with little of interest. Southwest is the library. Read the books, but don't take too much notice of the Codex, you can't actually do what it suggests. 26. Back down the westward corridor, is Iolo's room. Note the painting by Roland Scull, on the west wall. Looks ordinary, eh? 27. To the west is the avatar's second study. You'll need the Ankh key from the wineglass to open it. There is a scroll on the desk, subtly different from U6 proper. Now, there is a nice little spyhole on the east wall. The painting by Scull in the other room has little peepholes in it. Cute. 28. Heading north is the storeroom with the balloon. East is the back door of Sutek's room. Here you find a neat scroll, a jar of honey, a fishing fish, a trough, a glowing eye, an edible horse and a bunch of hallucinogenic grapes. Further down is the Squeaky urn, the windpress, the magic exploding bucket and the energy vat. 29. Go North into the corridor. North is the Throne room, cute, but useless. To the west is the sea entrance room. This has three doors, two of which are used for the drawbridge. Use the 'L' key to open them. 30. If you sail south, you'll come to two outposts. Both need the key 'L' to open them, but the left one has a control for the drawbridge. 31. That's all I know. In case you're wondering, the amulet of Submission that Sutek wears is a substitute for the 'L' key the avatar has.
